Faridkot, a small city in Punjab, is named after Baba Farid who is the first known Punjabi poet. It serves as the headquarters of Faridkot district. The city is home to many Gurudwaras and forts which attract tourist from all over the country. The most notable places in the city are Raj Mahal, Fairy Cottage, Quila Mubarak, and Gurudwara Tilla Baba Farid. Former is the homage given by Punjab to the great poet Baba Farid. The city also organizes Farid Mela every year which attracts a huge number of tourists.
