Bhind is one of the very beautiful and picturesque destinations of Madhya Pradesh. The city has got its name from the Saint Bhindi. During Vedic period, this region was ruled by Yadu, son of zyayati.The total area of the district is 4,459 km and the district is characterized by uneven ravines, plain fertile fields and scanty forests.
Bhind is surrounded by Sind, Kali and Chambal rivers along with the tributary of the Kunwari and Puhuj. The river flowing through the region, makes the soil fertile favourable for crops and other vegetation. Popular tourist spots of the place include Fort of Atar, Fort of Gohad, Mata Renuka Temple, The Jain Temple of Baranso, Vankhandeshwar Temple etc.
