Rampur is a city in Uttar Pradesh state of northern India. The city lies on the bank of the Kosi River, about 24 km east-southeast of Moradabad.
Rampur is connected to Moradabad and Bareilly through a road and rail junction. It is a trade centre for agriculture-based products and grain, and the major industries of the city include wine-making, sugar processing, textile weaving, manufacturing, and cotton milling. Some attractions of the city include Jama Masjid, Raza Library, Rampur Planetarium, Gandhi Samadhi, Kothi Khas Bagh, and Ambedkar Park. City has many educational institutions; Mohammad Ali Jauhar University is the first university of Rampur city.
