Located about 200 km from Bangalore, Chitradurga is located in the southern part of Karnataka. The place was also known by the names of Chitradurg, Chitrakaladurga, Chittaldurg, Chittaldrug during the British rule. It was known as Farkhabad during the Tipu Sultan rule.
